Robert’s journey in music began at just 13 years old. By 17, he had already released an EP with his hard rock band, quickly followed by a charting album on Heavy Metal Records. He went on to establish a hugely successful solo career, performing across the UK and Europe—including appearances on BP and Shell oil rigs, as well as Tui’s  cruise ships—earning a reputation as a must-see live performer. With industry recognition and accolades under his belt, it was only a matter of time before he reunited with a full band setup.

 

Returning to the live circuit with festivals, gigs, and charity performances, Robert set out to realise a long-held ambition: to create a tribute to Tom Jones. Inspired by memories of performing at Cardiff’s iconic Stage Door—once frequented by Sir Tom himself—Robert brought that vision to life with the formation of the Tom As Usual Showband.
